SeedSigner is a bitcoin signing device that remembers nothing. It has no Wi-Fi, no Bluetooth and no storage where a seed could stay behind. Pull the plug and everything you loaded is gone. At the next start you scan your seed as a QR code from paper or steel, and a few seconds later it is ready again.

Delivered pre-assembled. With us, the DIY Kit arrives fully built. Raspberry Pi, display, camera and enclosure are already put together, so there is nothing to plug in, screw or solder. Connect a Micro-USB power source and SeedSigner starts up.

It talks to your wallet software through its camera and display. Sparrow shows the transaction as a QR code, SeedSigner reads it, and you check the recipient and the amount on its screen. Once you confirm, it shows the signature as a QR code for your computer to read back. The two devices are never connected by a cable.

The software is open source and built by a community of volunteer developers, supported by the Human Rights Foundation. The images can be built reproducibly, so you can check for yourself that the file on your card matches the published source code.

What SeedSigner does

  • Generates a 12- or 24-word seed from dice rolls or from a camera image
  • Shows your seed as a SeedQR to copy onto paper or stamp into steel
  • Checks and signs transactions (PSBT) via QR code, Taproot included
  • Co-signs in multisig wallets and verifies change addresses
  • Displays receive addresses on the device so you can compare them with your wallet
  • BIP39 passphrase, BIP-85 and message signing
  • Imports Electrum seeds
  • Menus in 22 languages

Works with

  • Sparrow Wallet, Nunchuk, Specter Desktop, BlueWallet and Keeper
  • Power via Micro-USB, for example from a power bank or a USB charger

Please note: SeedSigner has neither a secure element nor a PIN. While a seed is loaded, anyone holding the device can display it, so switch it off once you have signed. Because it remembers nothing, you need your backup every time you start it. Without a SeedQR you enter 12 or 24 words with the joystick. You install updates yourself by writing the new version to the microSD card. There is no manufacturer support for the software. Questions are answered by the SeedSigner community on Telegram.

Two products from our range suit your backup. The SeedSaver v2.1 comes with a template for your SeedQR, so SeedSigner can read your seed through its camera. For a backup of your 12 or 24 words that survives fire and water, take the Tinyseed Titan made of solid titanium.

Buy the SeedSigner in orange at Copiaro. It signs your transactions and then forgets everything. Don't trust, verify.
